Speaking during a news conference Monday, Schwarzenegger said television images of the oil spill in the Gulf have changed his mind about the safety of ocean-based oil platforms.

I can’t help it: while I agree that off-shore drilling is a roll of the environmental disaster dice, I can’t believe that a state governor would make a decision as important as this based on “television images.” No worries about science, statistics, or studies — TV tells you all you need to know!

This is a stupid and senseless decision that will make my access to a couple of shows much more difficult.

The “Digital TV Transition Ford” sponsored by the Federal Communications Commission crashed during its inaugural NASCAR race Sunday afternoon, says the WSJ.
